Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Couples Retro iPhone app and the couplesretro.com website (together, the "Service"), provided by Aestheticallypleasing ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Couples Retro you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). Where these terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA applies to the extent required.

1. Who can use Couples Retro

You must be at least 13 years old to use Couples Retro, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live (or have a parent or guardian's permission). You need an iPhone running iOS 26 or later and an Apple ID to sign in.

2. Your account and your board

• You sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple ID secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Each board has two people: the owner who started it and the partner who joined with an invite code or link. You can be on one board at a time.
• The owner can remove the partner, and the partner can leave the board, at any time.
• Signing out keeps your data. Deleting your account (Settings > Delete Account) is permanent: for an owner it deletes the board and all notes for both people; for a partner it deletes the notes they wrote.

3. Subscriptions

Couples Retro is free to download. Writing notes on a board requires the board owner to have an active Couples Retro Pro subscription. The partner joins free and doesn't need their own subscription. Pro is offered at $7.99/week with a 3-day free trial, or $39.99/year. Prices may vary by country and are shown in the app before you buy.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
• If you start a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Your content

The notes, reactions and other content you add stay yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process and show that content to you and the other person on your board, only as needed to run the Service. You are responsible for what you write. Notes are shared with your partner when the board opens and stay visible to both of you on past boards until deleted as described above.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't use Couples Retro to:

• harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or share content that is illegal;
• access another person's account or board without permission;
• interfere with, reverse engineer, overload or disrupt the Service, except where the law allows;
• use the Service for any commercial purpose other than your own relationship.

We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these rules.

6. Not professional advice

Couples Retro is a tool for regular conversations between partners. It is not therapy, counselling or medical advice, and our guides are general information. If you are in a relationship that feels unsafe, or you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

7. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue features of the Service. We will try to give notice of significant changes. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated terms.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aestheticallypleasing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited. The warranty and liability terms of the Apple EULA also apply.

9. Apple

These terms are between you and Aestheticallypleasing, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.
